Reed Exhibitions Mexico has recently moved into an exciting new work space that promotes One Company collaboration, innovation and creativity in line with its business strategy.
The company has embraced open space working in its new offices on the 15th floor of the Mapfre Tower, one of Mexico City’s most modern buildings, located in the heart of the business district.
Reed Exhibitions Mexico’s move has been guided by five key principles which reflect the company’s cultural values.
One Company – The move brings all 130 employees of Reed Exhibitions Mexico’s newly combined business on to one floor in the Mapfre Tower with room for future expansion. The open space layout allows teams to sit together in the same location and foster easy, direct and open communication with lots of glass and natural light.
Innovation and creativity – Combining a bright and colourful contemporary design with plenty of natural light and glass, the new open space layout fosters creativity and innovation by encouraging people to get up, move around and interact in open and closed team spaces. This fresh looking design is also designed to attract the latest generation of recruits who have high expectations of their work environment.
Equity – Space in the new office is determined by need, not by entitlement or habit, and the furniture has been standardised for all employees. In addition to the open plan workstations, there is ad hoc space for impromptu/informal conversations, conference rooms for larger gatherings and spare offices which can be booked for private work, meetings and visiting Reed Exhibitions colleagues.
Collaboration – The new layout is designed to encourage collaboration by offering a wide variety of collaborative spaces in terms of both size and level of formality. This allows for a more efficient distribution of space to meet a variety of needs within the organisation. It not only includes open workspaces but also casual collision points, open space meeting tables, conference rooms and a modern, colorful cafeteria with additional meeting space.
Flexibility and mobility – The choice of furniture allows teams to gather together for quick informal meetings. Furthermore, all employees have been issued with laptops and there is fast wireless coverage to support work from any location throughout the office without losing connectivity.
